I agree almost entirely with

Thing4: Course Maps

I had very similar response, including the problem of duration of course components. I looked at Thing 5 in the same session and found that it helps a bit with this aspect, at least with thinking about how much of the students time will be apportioned to different learning methods/goals.

Of the tools so far I think these are the ones I am most likely to revisit as I review courses this year, partly because they are very simple to play with and produce simple easy to view output. I can see gains from using these, that anyone can access, without massive input of time to master the tools, but which do act as prompts that are useful in ensuring a thorough overview of a course.

I have not has time to produce full versions of either of these for a real course but will have a go at it later.

I've already attended LTS lunches so this forum is not new to me. However I must have let the database information pass me by- It is not very well populated at the moment but maybe if it was readvertised to departments on a regular basis it may get more things uploaded. I think it is a good idea, but as a useful resource it needs someone to look at it regularly to check if the contents are still up to date.
There is more up to date general board guidelines on plagiarism than 2009 for example. Even if the guidance has not changed it would be good to see that the paper had been revisited to check it is still up to date.
Maybe rather than pdfs it would be good to have links to documents at a site which is regularly updated so no need to double check everything more than once. For example link to documents on department site or general board sites etc

I can see why good to have links to previous events but the same time factor is true of these. Is a 2005 guideline still current? It may well be but if you are new to a role and looking this up you may wonder if this guidance had been superseded elsewhere

So in principle I think this is a good idea and could be very useful but in practice it needs a liitle bit of attention

Rather behind on Things but have just spent some time exploring thing 2 for second time Found lots of interesting snippets but felt very bitty on first visit. Later visit could see interesting comments from others once following particular cloud.
Current feeling- may be useful to elicit comments/discussion from outside institution, but not experienced enough myself in online forum discussion to know if other routes may do this better.
I think within institution would get fuller and more frank discussion in a less public forum

Not at all sure that this will be useful in Cambridge ocntext. We already have a lot of interaction with students via supervisions and camtools offers discussion forum possibilites .Maybe I am not familiar enough with this but I don't see any gain, just another thing to do

I am involved in course reviews, in timetable design for new courses and in administration associated with teaching. I also teach small groups. I hope to explore new tools to see if these will aid in course development and delivery.

The instructions to set up blog were easy to follow.
